Obituary of Daniel F. Carroll
Celebration of Life Services will be held, 9am, Sunday, December 1st at Rose City Funeral Home, followed by a wake at the Railside Pub. Dan Passed away on November 25th in Portland. He was 61 years old.
Daniel Francis Carroll was born February 7, 1952 in Terre Haute, Indiana the second of four children born to William Francis and Anna Grace (Mengel). Raised and schooled there he graduated from Schulte High School, class 1970 where he played football, basketball and track. He moved out West to Portland in 1977 with his brother Kevin where he has lived since. He went to college to be a surveyor working restaurants and tending bar which then changed the direction of his career. He bought a few bars before finally purchasing the Railside Pub in 2009 . He married the love of his life Kathy on October 6, 1983 in Longview, Washington.
Dan is survived by his wife, children and spouses; Samuel Carroll, Jacob and Karie Miller, Kristi Gilstrap, five grandchildren; Levi Gilstrap, Kolton Christensen, Kiana Scott, Paislee Gilstrap and Aubrey Cleghorn, siblings; Nancy Carroll, Kevin & Jnana Carroll and Tim and Elizabeth Carroll.
