In Loving Memory of Ben Allan Radabaugh

August 14, 1948 – January 10, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother Ben Allan Radabaugh, who left this world on January 10, 2024, due to complications associated with Alzheimer’s. He was 75 years old.

Ben was born on August 14, 1948, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Thomas Milton Radabaugh and Dolores Jeanne Barker Radabaugh (both deceased). Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of those around him with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. He was a devoted husband, a cherished father and grandfather, a respected colleague, and a loyal friend.

Family meant everything to Ben. He was a loving and supportive husband to Carol Lynne Kvinge Radabaugh, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. As a father, he was a pillar of strength, providing guidance, encouragement, and infinite love to his three children – Reagan Jean Halpin, McGee Lindsey Miguelena and, Tracey Lynne Berry. A devoted grandfather, he leaves behind cherished memories with his four grandchildren – Austin Halpin, Makenna Miguelena, Hollis Berry, and Anderson Berry. His wisdom, laughter, and unwavering support enriched their lives, leaving an enduring legacy of love and family.

Ben dedicated six years of service to the United States Navy, from June 1968 to June 1974, specializing in Nuclear Navy Electrical Maintenance. His commitment included active duty in Vietnam Campaigns, earning him recognition through commendable honors such as the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

A man of many talents and endless tinkering, Ben completed his career as an IBEW Union Electrician, where he excelled with passion and dedication. His work not only left a lasting impact on his colleagues but also contributed significantly to every company he chose to work for.

Ben had a vibrant personality that drew people towards him. His dry sense of humor, generosity, and genuine interest in others made him a cherished friend to many. He had a knack for making everyone feel special and appreciated, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Ben found joy in travel, gardening, reading, long walks, coins, and microbrew beers. His life was a tapestry of simple pleasures that will be fondly remembered.

Ben is survived by his siblings, Earl Radabaugh, Marcia Radabaugh Berg, Mark Radabaugh and JoAnne Radabaugh O’Bryant. He was preceded in death by his sister Jeannette Radabaugh Juhala.

As we mourn the loss of Ben, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the positive impact he had on so many. His legacy will continue to inspire us, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the charity of your choosing. If you do not have a preferred charity, the Alzheimer’s Association was a cause close to the family’s heart. A memorial service to honor and remember Ben will be held on January 18, 2024, at 11:30am at the Willamete National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon with a celebration of life to follow at Carol’s home in Vancouver, Washington.

May Ben Allan Radabaugh rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and joy he brought into the lives of those who were fortunate to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
