Anita Louise Green, 55, died on May 4, 2012, at her home in Beaverton, Oregon. The daughter of Howard J. Irvin Sr., and Marandia L. Irvin, Anita was born in Norfolk, Virginia on December 17, 1956.
In 1975, Anita graduated from Manor High School in Portsmouth, Virginia and subsequently attended Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia. Shortly thereafter, she married Gregory Green, a career U.S. Military man.
She is predeceased by her mother, Marandia L. Irvin of Fontana, California, her daughter Daneka F. Green of Portland, Oregon, and a host of extended family members who will be welcoming her home.
Anita found her calling in the retail business where she worked for several department store chains culminating with Kohl's as her most recent and last employer where she served as retail supervisor. She was a dedicated employee who took the fortune of employment seriously and was rarely seen without a smile on her face. Anita was a caretaker and listener; forever providing a helping hand and her undivided attention for those who needed an ear. She was the consummate mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, friend and confidant. It was rare to see her not shuttling family members around.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, trips to the coast, frequenting regular hangouts with friends, talking on the phone with out-of-state friends, and travelling; have means Anita will travel.
Anita is survived by her father, Howard J. Irvin Sr. of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Adonica L. Beavers, and Granesha T. Green of Portland, Oregon; granddaughters, Zaleyzjhia T-L Green, and Nia A. Beavers; grandson, Adrian K-E Beavers of Portland, Oregon; great grandson, Gregory W. Aleshire III (G3) of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Dawn D. Irvin and Myra L. Irvin of South Carolina; brothers, Howard J. Irvin Jr. of Upland, California, and Timothy R. Irvin of South Carolina; former husband, Gregory Green of Portland, Oregon; nephews: Dr. Milan M. Irvin and Micah M. Irvin of Upland, California, Kazian and Timothy R. Irvin Jr. of Greenville, South Carolina, Nahshon M. Puckett of Greenville, South Carolina, Jameon E. Williams of Mauldin, South Carolina; nieces: Belaun O. Boston, Charleston, South Carolina, Jadaun M. Williams, Mauldin, South Carolina, Tiffany Irvin of Greenville, South Carolina, Mykala M. Irvin of Santa Clara, California; son-n-law, Keith E. Beavers of Portland, Oregon; sister-n-law, Gayle A. Irvin of Upland, California; her dog, Tatum of Beaverton, Oregon; and a host of other extended in-laws, cousins, relatives and friends.
