Anita “Nita” Patterson, who some know as “Shotgun” or “SkitaBug” was born in Redding, California on November 18, 1961 to Virginia and Jesse Crockett.
Anita moved to Portland and attended Wilson High School which is now known as Ida B. Wells High School. Anita met Floyd Patterson, Jr. and they married On Feb 24, 1987 in Petersburg Virginia.
Everyone knows Anita as a hard worker. She dedicated over 20 years to WinCo Foods and with the support of her loving husband was able to raise 4 beautiful children in the process.
Since retiring Anita spent her time chasing the sun, cheerleading her grandchildren from the sidelines and trying her luck in Sin City. You could always find Anita in a designer store or boutique chasing the latest fashion but most importantly finding the perfect gift to give.
After fighting for nearly 2 months Anita passed peacefully on May 11 2021. 18 years to the date of Floyd’s passing, once again rekindling their love.
Anita is survived by her mother, Virginia Crockett, her 4 children Tynisha (Natobia Scruggs), Floyd Jr (Minh), Delon and Elijah Patterson of Portland, Oregon; Her granddaughters Deja Smith, Madyson Patterson, Kennedy Patterson, Nadia Scruggs, Zoe Patterson and Grandsons Prince Scruggs, Elliot Patterson, Floyd “Oliver” Patterson III and Miles Patterson. Also by her sisters Michelle Justice Marsha Divine and Special Saab her brothers Manuel Crockett and David Crockett.
