Barbara Ann Malone

January 23, 1952 — February 21, 2016

Barbara Ann Malone aka Malone, made a peaceful transition at her home on Sunday, February 21, 2016 @ 5:57am surrounded by those she loved after a long illness.
Survived by her loving daughter Sofiya Gauger-Malone, Sisters: Mary Rose, Susan, Peggy, Ann Marie Kiolbasa, brothers: Michael and Martin, her father: Jim, and 8 nieces and nephews.   She will join her mother, Ann, in eternal life.
Born in Chicago, a self taught artist, sandblasting glass and painter in various mediums.  She found her identity in the LGBTQ community and lovingly supported others in accepting and finding their true identities.
A lover and protector of nature, lived in Montana and settled in Portland, Oregon, for the last 20 years, the last 5 of which she worked for her favorite store, New Seasons Market.
She cast a wide net of friends, young and old, fortunate and unfortunate alike.  Her beautiful smile and kind eyes will be remembered in the hearts of many.

A Celebration of her Life was held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 3 pm at Unity of Portland on Stark and 47th, SE.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 19th beginning at 10:00 AM at Queen of Angels Church, 4412 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Following Mass, there will be a reception in the Irish American Heritage Center.
