Barbara Jean McIntire

October 14, 1941 — August 13, 2011

Barbara was born to Lloyd and Dorothy (Estep) Johnson in Coquille, Oregon. She passed away with Louis at her side on the morning of August 13, 2011 after a lengthy illness.
Barbara met Louis McIntire and after a short engagement, they were married on March 10, 1958 in Springfield, Oregon. They recently celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. Their marriage brought them five children: George, Bill, Dennis, Donald and Ray. On their 50th wedding anniversary, the children arranged for Barbara and Louis to renew their vows.
Barbara retired from Bohemia Lumber Company after 25 years. She enjoyed the art of dolls and had an impressive collection. She was also a quilter and a painter. Barbara and Louis did everything together. They hunted, fished and camped avidly throughout their entire marriage.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was extremely devoted to her family. She loved people and always greeted anyone with a hug. She was a person with a consistent personality on whom you could always count. No matter what the situation, she was always the same. During her lengthy illness she never complained and didna(TM)t want people to feel bad for her.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband Louis of Dorena, sons George of Junction City, Bill of Myrtle Point, Dennis of Junction City, and Ray of Eugene, step brother Jerry Frye of Alsea, Oregon, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her son Donald. She will be missed by not only her immediate family but also by all of her extended family and numerous friends.
