Beate Ann Pitts

December 18, 1920 — November 1, 2010

Betty died at her daughter's home with family. She was born in Portland to Beate and William Albright. She was a lifelong resident of Oregon and would not have wanted to live anywhere else. She retired from Crown Zellerbach and enjoyed those retirement years with family and friends.
Betty's life was always centered around her family. Mother's persona was clear: she was a truly selfless woman. No doubt ever, where one stood in her affections – she was totally honest. Enormous vitality, zest for life and constant awareness of others; with the importance of the preservation and protection of family looming largest.
Her greatest joys were her family, beach trips, ice cream drum sticks and her home of which she was rightfully proud.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Beate and William and her sister, Geraldine Spangler. Betty is survived by her daughter Barbara (Raymond) Temple, grandsons Michael (Denise) and David (Reggie) Nelson, great grandsons Max and Hunter Nelson and lifelong friend Jeanne DeMartini as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mother was loved and respected by all who knew her and we will miss her deeply and forever. We are consoled knowing that her long struggle is now over.
The family wishes to thank Adventist Hospice for the loving care they gave her. Melissa, Youske, M.J., Lynette, LeeAnn, thank you so much. We suggest contribution remembering Betty be sent to Portland Adventist Hospice. There will be no service at this time. A Celebration of Betty's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home (503) 281-3821.
