Benjamin Franklin Fluker

April 4, 1918 — September 22, 2007

Mr. Benjamin Franklin Fluker, Jr. was born on April 4, 1918 in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana. He was raised and educated in Louisiana. He moved to Portland in 1941. He had served overseas in the US Army during World War II and during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Fluker married Velma Perkins in 1962. He had worked for the City of Portland for over 30 years. He was a member of the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma; his daughter, Irene Peyton; and his sons, Jesse Jones and Benjamin Fluker, III. He is survived by his children: Rachael Russell, Elnora Graham, General Jones, Stella Henry, Warren Fluker, and Linda Fluker; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
