Bernice M. Nelson

Bernice went home to be with the Lord the morning of Aug. 17, 2010, at age 94. Born in Moscow, ID, to Andrew and Hulda Rydholm, she had an older sister Margaret and younger brother Paul.
She graduated from the University of Idaho. In 1941 she moved to Portland. She attended First Covenant Church, where she met Carl Nelson. They were married in 1944. She spent most of her working years as a secretary, retiring from Omark Industries in 1984. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and entertaining friends.
She is survived by her son Howard, daughter Marianne (Kevin) Wood, granddaughters Kimberly and Karissa Wood.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, in First Covenant Church, 45th & E. Burnside, Portland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
