My day is done, my race has been run, it’s time to go home.
Born on the 30th of January 1931, in Minden, Louisiana, loved and cherished by her parents, the late King Brown and Ella James (West) Brown; Bessie Mae Coleman was the seventh of eight children with six preceded her in death. She departed this life on the 23rd of January 2016. In the early wee hours she made a transition from life as we know it into unending time eternity.
She was a member of Vancouver Avenue Baptist church. United in marriage to the late Luther Coleman, to this union two children filled their happy home; Gerald and Marcella both of Portland, Oregon. Her work experience lasted for over forty years at Bell Telephone Company. Her memories will be treasured by her loving and devoted daughter in law Suzanne. She leaves to cherish numerous special memories for her grandchildren she adored; Patrice, Landi, Akeem, Alex, Spencer, Troy, and Christian. One beautiful sweet great-grandson Ryder. A host of precious nieces, nephews and loving cousins.
“I loved her dearly. I walked with her through all her aches and pains; even to the light at the end of the tunnel where I could do no more. What a blessing, Don’t cry for me.” Your big sister Jessie Mae McCoy
