Betty passed away, November 1, 2014 in Portland surrounded by her family’s love, she was 90 years old. Betty was born June 9, 1924 in Burlington, Iowa the 4 th of 6 children born to Ferdinand and Marie (Jensen) Hansen. While working in Monmouth, Illinois she met a sailor in the United States Navy and on May 18, 1945 at the age of 21 she married Dan Johns. They then moved to Portland. From this marriage they had two daughters. They later divorced in 1975. Betty work for many years during the 60’s and 70’s at the International Woodworkers of America, retiring in 1978.
Betty is survived by her daughters; Vickie her husband Will McCreery and Betsy McGraw, grandsons; Gavin McCreery, Conor his wife Autumn Gilles and Kyle McCreery, great granddaughter; Elsie Gilles.
Private inurnment will be at Rose City Cemetery.
