Brenda Joyce Vaughn

Brenda Joyce Vaughn of Portland, Oregon died peacefully at home on November 21st, 2018 at the age of 71.

Brenda is survived by her son Kenneth Allen Vaughn Jr. and her daughter Vannessa Ann Vaughn as well as her brother Macceo Pettis, sister Gussie Hayter, and various nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents, Augustus and Hattie Bell Pettis and her sister, Laverne Strong, all of Portland.

Brenda was born in August, 1947.  As a young single mother, Brenda enrolled herself in college to create a better life for her young family.  She graduated from Oregon State University with a certificate of Pharmacy Technology which lead to a career from which she retired in 2008.

Brenda was an active member of the Red Hats Society and often enjoyed outings with this groups of friends.  She will be fondly remembered as a kind and loving person and her smile will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
