Obituary of Bruce Greenwald
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, April 27th at the Rose City Park United Methodist Church, 5830 NE Alameda St with a committal at Rose City Cemetery. Mr. Greenwald passed away in Portland on April 12th surround by his family's love. He was 85 years old.
Bruce Carley Greenwald was born on January 16, 1928 in Portland, Oregon to Cortland J. and Winnie (Gandy) Greenwald the second of two children. Raised in Portland he graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1946 and then joined the United States Navy and served from 1946 until 1948. On December 23, 1950 he married the love of his life Rosemarie Barbara Hoffmann and they were best friends for over 56 years until her passing in 2007. Bruce worked for over 30 years for the Oregon Steel Mill and then in 1985 worked for over 20 years for the Performing Arts Center as a Stage Door Manager until 2005 and then retired.
Bruce was an avid sports fan. He loved and played baseball; he sold hotdogs and peanuts at the Portland Beavers games and traveled throughout the United States to visit many major league fields. He played golf and was a Blazer fan (most of the time). Bruce was a wonderful friend and a devoted family man who loved to have family dinners every Sunday.
Bruce is survived by his children and their spouses; Gayla (Gary) Dukart, Dave (Jan) Greenwald, Marla (Gary) McHargue Grandchildren: Alison Glass, Leslie Zagelow, Keegan McHargue, Hayley McHargue, Cameron Greenwald and Connor Greenwald. Great-grandchildren: Rory and Piper Glass and Olivia Zagelow, sister; Gloria Hinton.
