George was born to Theodore and Annie Norby on January 23, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He met Doris in Turlock, California and they were married April 18, 1958. They moved to Santa Cruz in 1960, to work at a dry cleaners and to be closer to Doris' parents.
The family moved to Knappa, Oregon in 1971 for a job at Fisher Mercantile in Astoria, and then moved to Longview, Washington in 1974, where George went into the florist business. After that shop closed, we moved to Hillsboro, and George worked for Rogers Organ Company. By then we were called the nomad family as we continued to move around Aloha and Beaverton.
George loved going camping, playing the organ and designing flowers. He also loved to play Mexican Train/Chicken Foot.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris and his dog JJ. Survivors include his four children: Daughter Debbie Doty and husband John of Milwaukie, Oregon; Son Steve Norby of Stanwood, Washington; Daughter Karen Norby and husband Al of Marysville, Washington; Daguhter Julie O'Neil and husband Doug of Kew West, Florida. There are 13 Grandchildren: Michell, Phillip, Allen, Larissa, Nichelle, Michael, Kelsey, Britany, Jason, Stephanie, Curtis, Daniell, and Justin. There are 10 Great Grandchildren: Teagan, Amanda, Emma, Hannah, Jimmy, Paige, Haylee, Nathan, Mya, Waylon and Ryker.
