Carmen Lucille Fredricks

Carmen Lucille Power was born on October 20, 1923 in Tampico, Mexico to Thomas and Edna Power. She was raised and educated in Laredo, Texas and was a graduate of Martin High School in Laredo. She had also attended the University of Colorado and Portland Community College. She married Ithel "Mike" or "Fred" Fredricks on June 1, 1968 in Denver, Colorado. They moved to Portland in 1974. Carmen had worked as a nurse's aide at the Portland Veterans Hospital, and for the Visiting Nurses Association. Carmen passed away on August 3, 2008 at the age of 84. She is survived by her husband Ithel; her children: Linda Todd of Truckee, California, Diana Wilcher of Terrell, Texas, Carolyn Cunning of Denver, Colorado, Charles Fredricks of Santa Monica, California, Thomas Cunning of Camas, Washington, Craig Cunning of Camas, Washington, JoAnn Cunning of Aloha, Oregon, and Charles Cunning of Vancouver, Washington; Her sisters: Margaret Barnes and Ann Power; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Ann Power, and by her twin sister Carol Prine.
