Chani Perera

April 6, 1915 — June 1, 2008

Mrs. Chani Perera was born on April 6, 1815 in Habana, Cuba, the daughter of Marcos and Matilde (Fleites) De Arce. She was raised and educated in Cuba, and married Santiago Perera on September 4, 1940 in Alquizar, Cuba. In 1962 they immigrated to the United States to Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Perera had worked as a seamstress for White Stag and had also worked at the I. Magnin Department Store. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Her husband, Santiago, died in 2004. Mrs. Perera died on June 1, 2008 in Portland at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughter Consuelo Rodriguez, son-in-law Emilio Rodriguez, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
