Chester Wayne Lucas was born on June 19, 1938 in Salina, Kansas. In the state of Kansas he attended elementary school and after high school he enlisted in the United States Navy in February of 1956, recieving an honorable discharge.
He came to Portland Oregon, met the love of his life, Dorothy Cleveland whom he married in 1963, and from this union five children were born. In 1980 she passed away.
Chester was employed by Techtronix and Portland general electric before becoming disabled. He was good at working with numbers and anything electronic. This extraordicary man enjoyed listening to jazz music, spending time with his grandchildren who he adored and just being a member of the Lucas family, for he was proud to be one of them.
Everyone in life are unique in many ways and he had many that we will always cherish and remember in our hearts forever. Rememeber his love for things he knew he was not supposed to have such as especially around the holidays he would ask everyone of they were going to cook a ham or pork chops, eating his daughters dressing and along with other things he enjoyed eating which were beans, raw hot dogs, bologna and crackers. And we must not forget him working on cars.
We will miss him dearly, but what we all know is that he enjoyed his life to the fullest.
Today our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, uncle, relative and friend is amongst others who were at the Golden Gates to greet him with open arms. Embracing him with the same great love that was given here on Earth from all of us.
He will forever remain in our hearts.
