Chris was born May 29, 1931 in Auburn, New York. He married Melrae Alford on May 12, 1952 in St Paul, Minnesota.
He served in the United States Army achieving the rank of CWO2. After 20 years of active duty he retired to Portland, Oregon.
During his years of service he was awarded Army of Occupation Medal, Germany; National Defense Service Medal, 1st Oak Leaf Cluster; Good Conduct Medal, 5th Award; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 dvc; Army Commendation Medal; Bronze Star Medal; Armed Forces Honor Medal, 2nd Class; ARCOM, 1st OLC and several citations.
His military duties took him away from his family to serve in Korea, Cuba and Viet Nam. He took his family to duty stations in places like Germany, Italy and all over the United States.
He worked for the US Post Office until his retirement in 1980. Then he started his own business "Double Dutch" firewood and lawn maintenance business. He retired in 1998 to care for his wife.
He enjoyed classic country, gospel, animals, pretty flowers, and television shows Walker Texas Ranger and NCIS. He loved his family, his country and hot cocoa.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Melrae; his parents, Chris & Elizabeth Leubner; brother, Melvin Leubner; and sister, Esther Baumgartner.
He is survived by his daughters LouisaGay Antle, Karel and Judeth Leubner; and son, Chris D. Leubner. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Amanda, Matthew, Kristin, Erik, Scott, Kyle & Chris; 2 great grandchildren, Jaedyn and Lexiss. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Dorothy Foster and Evelyn Riggall.
