Colleen Cecelia Gilbert
July 14th, 1935 – October 4th, 2021
Colleen Cecelia Gilbert was born on July 14th, 1935 in Belle Plaine Minnesota. She was the oldest of 9 children. Colleen’s family moved to Vanport, Oregon to work in the shipyards during WWII. She, along with her family survived the Vanport flood of 1948. Her family relocated to Portland. Colleen would live in Northeast Portland for the remainder of her life. In 1954 Colleen married David “Bud” Gilbert and they had two daughters, Jayme and Ronda. Colleen had a long career in various roles at Bell Telephone Company.t
Colleen was a strong, opinionated, hard working woman. She liked to play cards and to travel. Colleen loved spending time with her husband hunting, fishing and visiting Reno. She was also generous, funny and loving. More than anything, she deeply loved her family. She was a major part in their life and she will be forever missed.
Colleen is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bud and daughter Jayme.
Colleen is survived by her daughter Ronda, her siblings Mary, Pat, Mike and Cathy, her grandchildren David, Gina, and Justin, and great grandchildren Audrey, Justine, and Autumn.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, October 21st at the Rose City Funeral Home, 5625 NE Fremont St, Portland, OR 97213 and a mass of Christian burial on Friday, October 22nd at St. Rose of Lima Church, 2727 NE 54th Ave, Portland, OR 97213
