Curtis Raymond Stephens was born on December 09, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Curtis E. and Hilda L Stephens.
Curtis received his primary and secondary education in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1987 Curtis relocated to Portland, Oregon working with Multnomah County as a weatherization specialist.
Curtis met Lanita and they were married May 22 nd , 1996. Curtis was known for his handyman abilities, from professional painting to several handicrafts of all kinds. He enjoyed sharing and training in his area of expertise with many others.
His interests included listening to Jazz and gospel music and attending live concerts in the park.
Curtis was raised in the Catholic Church and enjoyed many years as an altar boy.
Curtis leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 19 years and three daughters, Veda Stephens, Andrea Mayfield, and stepdaughter Djuana Jones, three sons, Darren Stephens, Cortland Stephens, and Curtis Stephens Jr. Patricia Stephens, his sister, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and several foster children, Jericho and Jesse Love, Antoine Taylor, Joe Compton, Serena Bergstrom, Sherley Mallory, and many close friends.
