Darrell Alan Messinger
Darrell was born April 27, 1948 in Portland. Oregon
He grew up on NE Simpson Street, the 3 rd of 7 children
Darrell went to Whitaker Elementary and Benson High School
He was drafted in the US Army in 1967 for a 2 year enlistment, of which he spent 5 months in S. Korea
He worked for the Carpenters Union for more than 30 from which he retired in 2010.
He moved to Vancouver, Washington where he set up his home with his dog Molly and a cat.
He was an animal lover always bringing home stray animals even as a child
His passions were playing the guitar and loved music, even as a child he played the drums.
Darrell was an avid gardener where he grew many vegetable and fruit trees in his yard.
Darrell is survived by his mother, Betty Messinger, brothers Michael, Patrick and Robert and sisters Diana Hoeft and Vicki O,Donnell. his children David and Tara Messinger and grandchildren Bruce and Matilda Messinger.
He was also an uncle and great uncle.
Darrell was loved and will be missed by so many people who touched his life.
