Darryl Vernon Curry
June 4, 1963 — February 7, 2012
Darryl Vernon Curry was born on June 4, 1963 to the union of Johnny Vernon Curry, Jr. and Eva Lois Curry in Portland, Oregon.
Darryl attended Holiday Grade School, Sabin, Vernon, and Ulysses S. Grant High School.
Darryl accepted the Lord at an early age at the Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. O.B. Williams.
Darryl had a good heart and was a very kind spirit. A bundle of joy, gone too soon. He was always courteous, cordial, and respectful to others. Darryl cherished and loved life. He was a dignified, quiet soul who stayed very close to his Mom and family. He would call and check on his Mom every day.
Some of his hobbies included sports, riding mini-bikes as a kid, playing tunk, spades, dominoes, cooking, movies, music, and being with family.
Darryl had three children and one grandson. He lived with the spirit and feeling of wanting his children to do better than him and have a life better than his own.
Darryl truly measured up to his name. He was:
Distinct Admirable Real Reverend Yielding and Loving.
The Curry family would like to thank the Most High, Holy, Divine God for the love, time, memories, and moments we were able to share with Darryl, and to be blessed with the essence, presence, and beloved spirit of a man who was a son, brother, father, grandfather, great-uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.
Preceding Darryl in death is his father, Johnny Curry, Jr.; Grandparents Johnny, Sr. & Sammie Curry, and Fred & Eula Allen.
Darryl leaves to mourn his mother Eva Curry; children: CorDarryl, CorDarrius, and Sheilisa; brothers and sisters: Anthony, LaShonda, Tonya, DeShawn, and LaTasha; a grandson, Jonathan, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
