David George Johnson was born January 7, 1957 in Portland Oregon. He was the first child of Ronald and Suzanne Johnson. David attended Estacada Union High School and graduation was followed by a stint in the US Air Force as a mechanic.
Upon discharge from the service, David followed many career paths and passions. He oversaw a cattle operation as young man, flew helicopter, and drove endless miles as a trucker delivering goods. Many considered David the best of the best as a semi-truck driver. He was generous in sharing his knowledge and many drivers cite him as their mentor.
He was a loyal friend always ready with a witty comment and story to tell. David’s pride and joy was his 1973 International Pickup, spending many hours tracking down parts as it was his daily ride. He had a passion for working on vehicles and always made time when a friend was in need. He leaves behind family and many good friends who will miss his presence.
David was preceded in death by his significant other and infant child, also his mother Suzanne Johnson. David is survived by Ronald Johnson, father, and his siblings Matt Johnson, Barbara Johnson and Cat Thomas. He is also survived by his uncle, Anton Johnson and his wife, Renee.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to St Christopher Truckers Relief Fund in David's memory. This fund helps semi-truck drivers and their families who have financial needs due to current medical problems.
