David Ira Lightner

David Ira Lightner was born on August 23, 1949 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Albert and Jacqueline Lightner. He was raised and eduacated in Los Angeles and was a graduate of John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, California. David moved to Portland in the early 1970's. He married Debbie Neff in 1985. David was a jeweler who had apprenticed under his father in Los Angeles. He had worked at a number of local area jewelry stores. David died on June 2, 2008 at the age of 58 and is survived by his children: Leah (John) Filar, Sam Lightner, Emily Lightner, and Nathanael Lightner; his former wife, Debbie Lightner; his brothers Scott Lightner and Kevin Lightner; and by two grandchildren: Jacquelynn Edwards and Chloe Filar. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Leslie Newton.
