Deloris Tokstad

Deloris was born to Archie and Adelia Gustafson in Chadron, Nebraska on November 11, 1926.  She was the 4th and last survivor of 7 children.  Deloris moved with her family during the Summer of 1944 to Vancouver, Washington.  She attended Fort Vancouver High School for her senior year.  She married Marion Tokstad on December 29, 1946 and they were married until Marion’s passing in 2008.  They had 3 children.  She is survived by her son, Michael (Pamela); son, Dennis (Kimthanh); and daughter Sharon; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Deloris loved to bowl and traveled extensively attending bowling tournaments with her many bowling friends.  She was the league’s secretary for over 50 years at Interstate Lanes in North Portland.  She loved music and dancing and took every opportunity to get up and dance whenever the occasion arose, especially when accordion music was playing.  She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and word jumbles.   Wheel of Fortune was her favorite TV show and she would never miss a night of it.  Hosting family gatherings, gardening, attending Thunderbird Club events and traveling to Hawaii and Mexico were things that she loved to do.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone who knew her.   She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:30p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Peace Lutheran Church 2201 N. Rosa Parks Way, Portland, Oregon  97217.  Private burial has occurred at Willamette National Cemetery.  Remembrances may be made to the church.
