Dena Demas age 93 passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2014 in her home surrounded by her loved ones. Her husband, George preceded here in death in 1958. Dena immigrated to the US from Nauplion Greece in 1950 and worked as a seamstress at Goodell’s Draperies for 34 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She is survived by her son, Spiro (Rita) Demas, grandchildren Athena (Anton) Pitts, George Demas, Nicole Demas and one great grandchild Alexis Pitts. She also loved and adored her great granddog Max Pitts. Surviving siblings are Evangelos Liavaris (Portland), Diamando Fournaros and Christina Koulourides (Greece). Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at Rose City Cemetery, 5625 NE Fremont St., Portland on Tuesday evening at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund of St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Monastery, 5 Timmer Lane, Goldendale, Washington 98620.
