Derrick Vaughn was born in Portland, Oregon, on August 2, 1967, to Noble and Karla Vaughn.
Derrick graduated from David Douglas High School and Mira Costa College. He majored in Mechanics.
On August 24, 1994, he was joined in marriage to Vicki Casey. They had two children, Jordan and Sydney.
From the time Derrick was 8 years old, he had a baseball in his hand. Although he played basketball and football, he excelled in baseball all through college. He was an outstanding pitcher and fast as lightning.
Derrick worked in the Carpentry field for most of his working life. He could build anything. When the economy turned, he got into Satellite and Internet installation.
Derrick touched the lives of many. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was strong willed but very loving. Everyone had a story to tell about Derrick.
Derrick was called home to the Lord on May 17, 2012. He is survived by his Mother and Stepfather: Karla and Delmar Tacker; Father: Noble Vaughn; Stepbrother: Brian Tacker; Stepsister: Ingrid Campbell; Children: Jordan & Sydney Vaughn; Aunt: Marlene Holiday and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and HUNDREDS of friends.
