Dionne Annette Jenkins was born on November 14th, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Clarence Jenkins and Valerie Lee.
In 1985 the family moved to Portland, Oregon, where she later attended Applegate Elementary School, Ockley Green Middle School, and Jefferson High School.
Dionne worked for McDonald’s and Amazon. She also loved to volunteer at the Humane Society and enjoyed working as a camp counselor.
Throughout her life she struggled with chronic illnesses. Dionne was the youngest patient to be on dialysis for 27 years.
Dionne accepted Christ in her life and was a member of Fellowship Church. She depended on and trusted in God to bring her through for 41 years and he did.
Dionne enjoyed board games. A few favorites are Scrabble, Monopoly, Sequence and Dominoes. She also enjoyed comedies and Tyler Perry movies. On Friday nights, we would take turns playing old school music called the “Friday Nights” jam session.
Dionne has a beautiful smile. She loved to laugh and was very forward about what she liked and did not like. She was kind and very helpful to almost anyone.
Dionne would always say, “wake up each day with a grateful heart.” And she did just that!
She leaves to mourn her passing: her mother, Valerie Lee, Aunt Christine Huston, relatives and a host of friends.
