Donald Andrew Bussey was born on August 17, 1949 in Portland, Oregon to Emory and Gwendolyn Bussey. He was the eldest of 6 children. Donnie attended Jefferson High School, Lower Columbia Jr. College and Central Washington State where he recieved his associates of arts degree in sociology. Donnie was an all time basketball star who loved reading and physical fitness. Donnie worked at Georgie Pacific as a computer programmer and then at Consolidated Freightways until he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1977 as an inventory management specialist. He later went on to various jobs including the one he enjoyed most, iron work.
On Friday morning of June 15th, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer Donny went peacefully to be with the Lord with loved ones at his side. He was a loving companion, father, son, brother and uncle who we will all miss. He leaves to mourn, his mother Gwendolyn Winslow, Brother Micheal and sister-in-law Nichelle Bussey, Sister Patricia Dorsey and brothers Emory and Anthony Bussey of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father Emory Bussey, brother Kenneth Bussey and stepfather Richard Winslow.
Also surviving Donny are his beloved children, stepson Michael Williams of Seattle, sons Donnie & Andre Bussey of Seattle (Marsha Bussey), Daughter Nicole Bussey of Sacramento California (Deborah Halloway) son Keon Bussey of Oakland California (Carla Frazier), son and daughter Joshua and Barbara Baxter-Bussey of California (Robin Baxter), daughter Janiece Bussey of Richmond California (Judith Windham). Donny Also leaves behind to carry his legacy a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Donny loved life and was known for his adventuresome and fun loving spirit. He was always on the go and ready to try new things. There are many things that Donny will be remembered for, but mostly his generosity, love of lottery scratch tickets, and enjoyment of watching the Food Network, old westerns and professional sports.
Donny enjoyed strong and lasting relationships with the many friends that he grew up with. He had a kind, gentle and loving spirit that brought a sweet and peaceful presence wherever he went.
