Donna Mae Carrier, age 58, died at Providence Medical Center on Sunday, December 6, 2015. She passed after a short, fierce battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Born June 16,1957 in Yoder Ks., to Robert and Olive Dooms, Donna grew up in Ashland OR., graduating from Ashland High School in 1975.
On April 11,1981, Donna married Paul Carrier in Portland, OR where they made their home and raised three beautiful daughters together though Donna came to be known as "Mom" to many of her children's friends and more recently as “Grandma” to their children.
Donna had a varied career working at US Bank, Oki Semiconductor and Pacificare Insurance before taking the position of secretary at Englewood Christian Church. Upon the closure of Englewood, Donna became a home caregiver, first to a longtime friend, Kim Almaine and then on Kim's passing, to Bernice Morrow, a neighbor and family friend.
Donna will be especially remembered for her service as a Family Program Coordinator with Paul's various units in the Oregon National Guard. In addition Donna loved to craft and crochet, each year attending the annual craft sale at the Oregon Christian Convention ground in Turner, Oregon. Donna also loved to garden, each year nursing wonderful vegetables from the yard.
Survivors include husband Paul, daughters Cynthia Carrier, Sarah Ward (Carrier), Gwendolyn Carrier, and sister, Alice Boatwright (Dooms) and her brothers Robert Dooms Jr. and William Dooms.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Olive Dooms.
Services will be held at a future date to be determined.
