Doris Hicks Lind

Doris was born in Astoria, Oregon the daughter of Frank and Isabella Hicks. The family moved to Portland when Doris was a youg girl. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Doris married John Iver Edwin Lind in 1927, and he died in 1933. She was a piano instructor for many, many years. She taught until she was in her 90's. She was a member of the Eleventh Church of Christ, Scientist in Portland, and was a life member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lind; her son Douglas Lind; her brother, Elmer Hicks; and her sister, Mildred Jean Biddle. She is survived by one daughter, Joan Lind.
