Edith Olga Lukas

February 22, 1919 — May 2, 2010

Edith was born in Petersburg, Alaska. She was the second of three children born to Josephine and Olaf Nygaard. She graduated from Petersburg High School and then attended Emanuel Nursing School in Portland for one year, where she met her future husband, Martin Lukas and married in 1939. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 1994.
Her parents, her son Terry Lukas of Portland, Brother Connie Nygaard and Sister June Peterson preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons Gary and Barry Lukas of Vancouver, Wa, daughter Sharon Schiedler of Kamiah, Idaho, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Edith loved to bowl, play golf, dance and to play all types of card games.
She spent most of her life as a homemaker in Portland, OR and moved to Vancouver, WA in 1983. She recently resided at the Quarry Assisted Living in Vancouver, WA.
Editha�(TM)s warmth and sense of humor will be missed by her many friends and family. At her request, there will be no service.
