Elaine Bossert

Elaine Bossert died peacefully on Saturday, November 4th of natural causes.

Elaine was born at Emmanuel Hospital on February 8, 1921, the daughter of Mabel Mickelsen Lewis and David Lewis, and sister to Victor. She graduated from Commerce High School, earned her pilot’s license, and attended Modesto JC. Her civil service job with the Army Engineers took her to Anchorage, Alaska, where she met her husband-to-be Charles Bossert. They were married on October 27, 1944. Elaine inherited her mother’s Grange Insurance Agency. She was active in her garden club, and swam at David Douglas pool for 40 plus years. She also enjoyed her many friends at church.

Elaine is survived by her children, Sandy Smith (Delane), Thomas Bossert (Lesley), Christine Anderson (Harold), Joseph Bossert (Sandi), and David Bossert (Connie). She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Parkrose United Methodist Church on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2 PM.
