Elnora departed this life on Monday, July 23, 2012, at Marquis Piedmont Care Center in Portland, Oregon. Elnora (Crockett) Graham was born to Elsie Mae McCarter and Tanzie Crockett on September 3, 1934 in Tallulah, Louisiana, the second of their children. She moved to Las Vegas with her aunt and uncle in 1939. They moved to Vanport, Oregon in 1942, and after the Vanport flood they moved to Portland. Shortly thereafter, her mother Elise arrived with sisters, Irene and Rachel and Baby Jessie known as "Man".
Elnora's other siblings, General and Stella soon followed by train. She went to school in Vanport, and after moving to Portland, she attended Holliday Park Grade School, Lincoln, and Jefferson High Schools.
In 1956 she met and married John W. Graham {deceased}.
She worked for Montgomery Ward located on Northwest Vaughn Street until it closed in 1972, and then went to work for Coast Janitorial until she retired in 1996. She has given years of faithful service on the Usher Board, and volunteered twice a week for over 22 years with the food program at Bethel AME started by Clara Peoples and for which she was recognized with a certificate for "Outstanding Service for Community Care" in 2008. Elnora also donated regularly to the United Negro Fund.
Elnora was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Johnson; and her brothers Jesse "Man", Benjamin, Jr. and General; and by her son Reginald V. Crockett.
She leaves behind a daughter who loved her very much, Linder L. Barrett; her siblings: Rachel Russell, Stella Henry, Warren Fluker, and Linda Fluker; two grandchildren: Danette S. Davis and David C. Moose; and the apple of her eye "Princess" Lena C. Moose, her great-granddaughter; her cousin, Laura Jean Butler-Richey who was raised by Elnora; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
