Obituary of Eugene V. Manning
Visitation will be 10:30 to noon with Funeral services to follow at 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 8th at Rose City Funeral Home, 5625 NE Fremont St. Committal and burial with Military Honors at Rose City Cemetery.
Mr. Manning passed away in Vancouver, Washington surrounded by his family love on July 1, 2016. He was 73 years old.
Eugene Von Manning was born May 30, 1943 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the eldest of seven children born to Levi and Olive (Byrd) Manning. A few years later the family moved to Portland. It was here that Eugene was raised and graduated from Grant High School, class of 1960. In 1967 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served and was honorable discharged as a SP4. Eugene spent over 30 years working as a longshoreman for Local 8 and Local 92 where he retired from in 2004.
He is survived by his children; Tisha Lyon, Levi Manning and Eugene Manning Jr., English Cartier, and Michelle Milton. 7 Grandchildren; Tyler, Eugene III, Ava, Nicholas, Alexandra, Collin and Jisele. Siblings; Martina, Sonya, Ricky, Sheree, Dewayne and Andrena.
