Eugene Richard Poff

Eugene Richard "Gene" Poff was born on July 15, 1928 in Portland, Oregon to Russell and Martha Poff. He was a graduate of Tillamook High School, and earned his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oregon State College (now Oregon State University). Gene served in the US Navy between high school and college. He married Dolores Furlong in Tillamook on August 14, 1949. Gene had worked for many years as an electrical engineer for Pacific Northwest Bell ( later U.S. West). Gene died on June 8, 2009 in Portland at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife Dolores; his children: Randall Poff, Garry Poff, and Peggy Gamiles; his brother Russell Poff; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm, Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Fremont United Methodist Church, 2620 NE Fremont St. Portland, Oregon 97212. Private interment in Rose City Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. Arrangements are by Rose City Funeral Home, Portland, Oregon.
