Felix Antonio Herrada Gonzalez was born on June 14, 1953, in Havana, Cuba. As a Cuban refugee, he immigrated to the United States via Operation Peter Pan. After spending two years in Miami, Felix was transferred to Portland, Or., where he was later joined by his mother and father. Felix attended Washington High School. He was a naturally gifted musician, playing alongside many great local bands, including Mixed Blood, The Mel Soloman Band and the Krazy Kats. Felix is survived by his mother, Modesta Herrada; former wife: Margaret Herrada Tangeman; three children: Felix Herrada, III, Mercedes Herrada and Mariah Herrada Hunter; and 5 grandchildren: William, Natalie, Taliya, Tyra and Kahlil.
