George passed away surrounded by his family's love and support at his home in Portland, February 8th. He was 72 years old.
George was born February 12, 1943 in Portland to George and Beatrice(Mazurosky) Brill. He attended Chapman and graduated from Lincoln High School. He also attended Portland State and Clark Community College. He was in the Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years. He married Linda Hawley in 1965 and they had 3 children. They were married for 24 years.
He worked as a milkman for Carnation, Foremost and Sunshine Dairies. He was also a local delivery truck driver. His dream job was when he worked as a baseball scout for Kansas City Royals and Cincinnati Reds. After retiring he worked at Rose City Golf Course where he had also been a member of mens club since the 70's. He enjoyed bowling in the dairy leagues at Cascade Lanes and coaching his sons in little league and Babe Ruth Baseball. He began running in his 40's and ran four marathons. He loved going on weekend getaways with his "lady friend" Cathy and playing the slot machines.
He is survived by his. Children; Barbara Hoffer (Eric), Michael (Gam), Robert (Jenna), Grandchildren; Justin (Ashley), Marissa(Shaun), Briana, Robert jr, Bonnie, Great-Granddaughter Amaya, Ex-Wife Linda, Brother Richard (Linda), Nephew Eddie Brill and Niece Wendy Dye, Aunt Susan Myers and Cousins Dorothy Bargas and Dana Heitman.
He was recently predeceased by his mother and stepfather Robert Proefrock. His father George died in 1959.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to his favorite charity, St Judes Childrens Hospital.
