George T. Okamoto

February 22, 1937 — September 1, 2008

George T. Okamoto, born February 22, 1937 passed away peacefully on September 1, 2008 at the V.A. Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington from natural causes. Mr. Okamoto was a graduate of Benson Polytechnic High School, and earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Army, and he married Janice on February 24, 1963. He is survived by his wife, Janice; his children Gary Okamoto and Elaine Wingren; his brother Paul Okamoto; his sisters Karen Rohman and Nancy Roach; and by five grandchildren. Mr. Okamoto was preceded in death by his parents Hisashi and Misuyo Okamoto, and by his brother Roger T. Okamoto.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to The Oregon Buddhist Temple, 3720 SE 34th Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97202;
