Georgia Mildred Johanesen (Gulledge)
October 5th, 1924 – January 22nd,2016
Georgia was born in Eufaula, Alabama to George W. Gulledge and Mary Gulledge (Danford) on October
5th, 1924. And passed away on Friday January 22nd due to natural causes. Her wishes were to be
cremated and placed in the wall at Rose City Cemetery 5625 NE Fremont St, Portland, OR 97213.
Georgia had 16 brothers and sister, some from a second marriage.
Georgia loved family and spoke of them all of the time and was very proud to be from Alabama, she
loved Donald Duck and matched his spunky attitude, she married Daniel C. Johanesen II while he was in
Ft. Benning, Ga and moved to Portland Oregon in 1944, Her and Dan started a family and had two
children, Helmar J. (Joe) Johanesen and Alicia B. Johanesen, she lost Dan in 1989 due to multiple strokes
and lost Alicia in 2007 to an early heart attack.
During the war she worked in the Portland Shipyard, she and Dan also worked at a cleaning business
upon which they met contacts and started 12 Mile Auto Wrecking in Gresham.
Georgia had a love for animals, a passion for sewing and cooking, and of course a love for family and
friends.
Later in life Georgia battled dementia and moved into Avamere in Sandy, an assisted living facility in
2010
Georgia is survived by:

(Great-grandchildren) Anthony Lucas, Kyle Johanesen, Baxten Durham, Travis Johanesen & Alex
