Gladyce Lena Stewart

Gladyce Stewart was born in Sioux City, Iowa on October 29, 1909 to Chris and Anna Anderson. She was raised in Sioux City and attended grades 1-12 and business college there. She moved to Portland in 1945. She married John A. "Jack" Steart in 1957. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Ann Palmer Bakery and later for the Oregonian Newspaper in the payroll department. Her husband died in 1967. Gladyce died on Feruary 27, 2008 in Portland at the age of 98 and is survived by her step-children: Step-children: Trish (Dave) McDonough of Canby, Oregon, Anna (Henry) Phillips of Aurora, Oregon, Bill (Susan) Stewart of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, and Jacque (Ron) Baird of Oregon City, Oregon; Nieces: Jan Aust and her partner Peg Hackenbruck of Portland, Oregon and Barbara (Arthur) Montgomery of Glenwood, Minnesota; Nephew: Robert Aust of Franktown, Colorado; and by 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
