Halleen "Hallie" J. Kraetsch

June 15, 1925 — October 9, 2018

Halleen (“Hallie”) was born in Portland, Oregon at Emanuel Hospital.  She lived in Portland her entire life.  She was the oldest daughter of Edna and Walter Lyons and has a younger sister Carol Lyons Martin.  Hallie attended Llewellyn Grade School and Commerce (Cleveland) High School.

She worked as a secretary at the following companies:  Haseltine Hardware Co., Hyster Company, National Electrical Contractors Assoc., Benjamin Franklin Savings & Loan, Oregon Education Assoc., Oregon Department of Fish & Game, Department of Environmental Quality.

She married Robert (Bob) Kraetsch in 1974 and retired in 1983 at age 58.  Hallie and Bob loved to travel and traveled across the United States a few times.  They loved camping and took many cruises.  She was preceded in death by her husband Bob.  She was also preceded in death by the father of her two children Julian Bankhead.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, ceramics, oil painting, gardening, decorating, traveling and many crafts.  She was a member of a number of Methodist Churches in Portland and Gresham.

Hallie is survived by her two children - Son Brice Bankhead (and Tonia), and Daughter Yvonne Boehme (and Tom).  She has four grandchildren Brian, Scott, Megan and Aaron.  Hallie has four great grandchildren:  Emerson, Teddy and Max and Huston.  She loved being called “G.G.” by her great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Carol Lyons Martin.

Per her wishes there will not be a Funeral or Memorial Service.  Arrangements by Rose City Cemetery.
