Helen was born April 22, 1917 in Portland, Oregon to Gideon and Hilma Franzen and was married to Roland Earl Gilligan in 1936. To say that she was a home keeper does not do justice her many talents and services. She was very involved in service to God through her church and was devoted to helping family and friends in many different ways. It was not unusual for her to seek out someone in need and to provide intense care for them.
Helen survived her husband who passed May 18, 2011 and is survived her six children, Patricia Perry (Ron), Richard, Tom (Coco), Gary (Connie), John (Lisa) and Paul (Linda) Gilligan. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
