Gresham resident Helen Bode Kenoyer died October 25, 2008 at the age of 90. There will be no service at her request. Interment will be in the Bode family plot in Rose City Cemetery.
Helen was born on January 6, 1918 in Portland to Elsie and Victor Bode. She attended Buckman Grade School, Washington High School, & Lincoln Night School. She was employed for an attorney at law until January, 1942. At that time she went to work for the War Dept. Corps of Engineers after the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. She studied privately for several years with a Gregg Shorthand teacher taking Congressional Record dictation, which prepared her for Reporting Steno work with IRS Intelligence. She later worked for Bonneville Power Administration, for a total of 27 years of government service. She studied classical piano for a number of years and enjoyed attending opera, ballet, & symphonies. She married Leon Kenoyer February 4, 1962, who passed away in 1987. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Aid, Guide Dogs for the Blind, or an organization of choice.
