Helen Frances Knutson

  Helen Frances Oakes Knutson was born in Portland, Oregon on June 27, 1929 to James and Kathleen Oakes. She passed away on October 1, 2024. 

  Helen was the third of four children. She grew up in the Mt. Tabor area of Southeast Portland and attended Glencoe Grade School, Franklin High School and then Willamette University, where she graduated with a BA degree in Psychology. 

  Earlier in her work career, Helen worked as a Personnel Director for several different companies. Later, she joined her husband Maurice Knutson in selling real estate for Prestige Properties in King City. She retired in her mid-eighties. 

  Helen is survived by her sister Eleanor Margaret Girod, niece Kathleen M. Girod, nephew David J. Girod and his daughter Emma Patel and her daughter Adria. 

  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SPCA or the Christian Science Church located in down town Portland on tenth avenue.
