Helen Marie Row

September 17, 1935 — December 20, 2013

Helen Marie Triplett Row was born on September 17th, 1935 in Pierre, South Dakota to Renold C. and Mildred Triplett. She passed away peacefully after a long illness in Carlsbad, California on December 20, 2013 at the age of 78.

Helen moved to Portland, Oregon with her family as a young child. She graduated from Grant High School in 1953, and was forever a Grant girl. After attending Oregon State University, she worked for Del Monte Corporation.

She married Charles C. Row in 1957 in Portland and they shared a partnership that lasted until he passed away in 2004. Helen and Chuck had two children, Kristine Smith (Dean) of Salt Lake City, Utah, and and Dan Row (Kris) of Carlsbad, California.

Chuck's career with Unocal moved the Family around the West. Mom made life long friendships everywhere she lived. She was an avid bridge player, a prolific reader, a professional shopper in search of a deal, a connoisseur of chocolate, always up for a trip with the girls, a loyal Charger fan, a Jeopardy whiz, and Grandma Honey to her four grandchildren, Ryan, Kate, Scott and Megan. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Helen is survived by her sisters Mary Triplett, Carol (Lawrence) Weberg, brother Jack (Pat) Triplett, and her beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, December 28th at 1:00PM. Private interment will be done at Rose City Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to a charity of your choice, or to the Friends of the Library in your city of residence which would be a fitting tribute to Helen.
