Inez Clara was born January 25, 1931 in Portland to Arthur and Mary (Calcagno) Garbarino the youngest of two daughters. She was raised in NE Portland and graduated from Parkrose High School, class of 1948. A few years later a young sailor was in town with a few friends and was told of a young lady he might be interested in. They met with the help of a lifetime cousin Augie Calcagno and danced the night away at the local dance hall. They spent many nights swinging to big band music and six month later they were married at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church on October 8, 1950.
Two years later they welcomed their daughter Jeanette and later their second daughter, Denise. Inez enjoyed her life as a wife and mother; she cared for her daughters while being active in their lives volunteering at school and 4-H events. She also assisted her husband doing bookkeeping for the Amato Garbage and Sanitation Company. One of her many joys in life was cooking and later in life watching the cooking channel 66 shows.
Inez is survived by her daughters; Jeanette Tobie and Denise Amato-Oakley. She is pre-deceased by her sister Rose Sisson and husband Sam Joseph Amato.
