Obituary of James “Jim” Robinson

A funeral will be held, 11 am, Wednesday, October 5th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3131 NE Glisan St.  Jim passed away in The Dalles, Oregon in a traffic accident, Sunday, September 25, 2016. He was 57 years old.

James William Robinson was born April 7, 1959 in Portland, Oregon the eldest of four children. His parents were Wesley William and Pauline Mary (Gianopoulos) Robinson.  Raised in Tigard he attended Tigard High School, class of 1977.

Jim enjoyed life and liked the outdoors with hiking, camping and tending the yard around their home. He was an inventor and patented the “Cool Shirt”. He loved old muscle cars and NASCAR and his 1969 GTO which he spent many years working on and recently got back on the road. He was a candle maker and gave many out as gifts and he also enjoyed traveling as he went to Greece several times.  He worked as a parts driver for Herzog Meier Motors in Beaverton for over ten years and was a security guard for several years before an injury side lined him. Jim will be missed by many friends as well as his family.

Jim is survived by his mother Pauline, siblings; Julie Robinson, Teresa Charlton and Michael Robinson, nieces and nephew; Chelsea Robinson, Alexandra Charlton, Kennedy Rose Robinson-Sass and Lance Robinson, and several other family members. He is pre-deceased by his dad Bill Robinson.

Committal and burial service will follow the funeral at Rose City Cemetery.
