James “Jim” Richard Baker

Jim passed away peacefully in his Portland home on December 5, 2018. He was born to Laurel “Doc” and Roberta Baker on Sept. 11, 1939 in Portland, Oregon. He graduated from Grant High School and then graduated from Oregon State University as a pharmacist. He and his wife Diana owned and operated one of Portland’s oldest pharmacies, the Skidmore Pharmacy in downtown Portland, and then he went on to work for Fred Meyer pharmacy for 25 years. He met and married Diana Johnson in 1967 and had two sons in the following years. Jim is survived by his Wife Diana, his son Chris (Veronica) 4 grandchildren, one niece, six nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Laurel and Roberta, his son Norm, and grandson Paxton, and brother Wayne. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 14th from 2 til’ 6 pm at his residence on 2943 NE 32nd Place, Portland,OR,97212.
