Jan was born to Jack and Darlene Marsh on February 8th, 1955. A lifelong Portlander, she graduated from Cleveland High School. She met Garry Thompson in the spring of 1975. They were married on May 15th, 1977. Jan and Garry started their own Jewelry business in late 1977. Jan took care of all the daily functions of running it. On December 22nd, 1979, their daughter Tiffany was born and on February 26th, 1982, their son Gregg was born. Jan dedicated her life to raising and deeply loving her family. She never complained or asked for anything in return. She always put her family before herself. She had a great passion for baking. When she would bake bread or cookies, she would always make sure there was enough to share with our neighbors and all the kids that came to our home. She also loved to garden and looked forward to spending time in the sun, caring for her plants and flowers every year. One of Jan's main philosophies in life was, don't dwell on the negative of the person or event and think of and find the positive . She always found a positive in everything. She is survived by her husband Garry Thompson, her daughter Tiffany Thompson, her son Greggory Thompson, her Granddaughter Lucinda Thompson, her mother Darlene Marsh, her sisters Karen Marsh-Herbert and Trudie Vranson, and her brother-in-law Jeff Vranson. After the service we will have a celebration of Jan's life at The Lodge Bar and Grill which was Jan's favorite place. It is located at on the corner of SE 66th and Powell Blvd. If you can PLEASE come, there will be food for all and drinks. Jan would be very honored if you are able to attend.
Thank You,
The Thompson Family.
